OLONGAPO CITY – Mayor James “Bong” Gordon Jr. Wednesday formally acknowledged three grade school students who recently won bronze medals in the 2010 China Primary School Math Olympiad in Tianjin, China.

The three students namely Alysza Mae Carballo, Grade 6 and Mikhaela Marie Diaz ,Grade 5, both from SPEDG and Kristine Ashley Doble, Grade 5 of CENTEX, were acknowledged through a simple celebration. These students competed with other Math wizards from China, Taiwan, Macau and Hongkong.

“Isa na namang karangalan para sa Olongapo ang makilala sa larangan ng kagalingan sa Math,” sabi ni Mayor Gordon.

The Math Olympiad is an event where the participants take tests which include multiple choice or numeric answers or a detailed written solution or proof.
