An app for life insurance businesses

Pioneer Life and Computer Professionals, Inc. recently launched eLIFE, the first Filipino, fully integrated, web-based life insurance application that is now commercially available to the life insurance industry.

With eLIFE, the different functions and operations of individual life insurance policies are integrated into one application, including new business, policy service, accounting, credit and collection, claims, and agency management and compensation.

eLIFE was initially developed by Pioneer Life to support and streamline its own business operations. During the launch, Pioneer Life President and CEO Lorenzo Chan shared that the development was fraught with challenges and difficulty, but that eLife today is something that Pioneer is proud of. “It is proof of Pioneer’s ability to successfully pioneer the initiation, creation & development of a stable, reliable system”, he said, “one that incorporates practical applications and good-to-have improvements.”

Having successfully used the software to integrate its business processes for over two years, Pioneer Life now shares the application with the life insurance industry through Computer Professionals Inc. (CPI), a 23-year old Filipino company with a track record of providing software development services and solutions to the insurance industry. CPI developed GENIISYS, a comprehensive general insurance application widely used by the non-life insurance industry in the Philippines.

After the success of GENIISYS, CPI wanted to provide a similar integrated software application for life insurance. “CPI looked to Pioneer, with whom it has a long-standing relationship. Pioneer had already developed a fully integrated system with a wide range of functionalities that we believe will be appreciated by other insurance companies as well,” said CPI VP for Business Development Ma. Rosario Gruet.

eLIFE will be marketed by CPI either as an entire package or by specific modules.
