By Dom Galeon The Manila Bulletin, in partnership with the Galerie Francesca, has launched a fund-raising private art sale for the benefit of the Philippine Red Cross. “Art for Red” features 27 visual artists, each offering at least one artwork, currently on display at the Lobby Lounge of the Manila Hotel.  Prior to that, the exhibit spent three days at the atrium of S Maison, which also sponsored the fundraiser together with San Miguel Corporation and Philippine Airlines. Present during the exhibit’s launch on April 13 were Sen. Richard Gordon, chairman of the Philippine Red Cross, secretary general Oscar Palabyab, Barbie Atienza, head of External Affairs and Corporate Communications at the Manila Bulletin, and Grace Remulla-Mindanao, assistant mall manager at S Maison. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z46Hyyz8HjU&feature=youtu.be “The Bulletin is part and parcel of the family of Red Cross. That is why (the late) Emilio T. Yap’s name is enshrined in the blood bank of the Red Cross. There’s an Emilio T. Yap Hall. And I think that’s a work of art by itself,” Sen. Gordon said during his speech at the launch. “Not only is Emilio T. Yap a humanitarian and philanthropist par excellence, the very fact that his children are now continuing his legacy for the arts, certainly the Filipino artist can match toe-to-toe every artist in the world, and all it needs is to be discovered.” “Art for Red” features a diverse range of artists including Raul Isidro, Rosscapili, Betsy Westendorp, Carlo Magno, Edgar Doctor, Fil and Janos Delacruz, Ferdinand Cacnio, Sam Penaso, Julio Austria, Roy and Ian Veneracion, and Salvador Ching. Each offered a unique piece to be sold at the fundraising exhibit. “We’ll always be supportive. We’ll always be appreciative of all the initiatives of the Bulletin family.
