Brangelina to launch kids’ clothing line
When Elle reported that Hollywood couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are planning to launch a new clothing line based on their four oldest kids’ – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, and Shiloh’s – clothing styles, many have been picture-guessing the style pieces that will be showcased in the line.
No doubt the first that would come to mind is Brangelina’s daughter Shiloh’s Montenegro style, which Jolie talked about when she graced the cover of Vanity Fair’s July issue.
“Shiloh, we feel has Montenegro style. It's how people dress there. She likes tracksuits, she likes [regular] suits. So it's a suit with a tie and a jacket and slacks, or a tracksuit. She likes to dress like a boy. She wants to be a boy. So we had to cut her hair. She likes to wear boys' everything. She thinks she's one of the brothers," said the Salt star in her Vanity Fair interview.
While this comment left the fashion police guessing, as most are unaware of a Montenegro style, Jolie’s stylist/designer Phillip Bloch defended the actress by telling Usmagazine that Jolie is a "global citizen of the world." For Jolie, Pitt and their six kids, "their points of references are a little bit different. When Angelina says 'Montenegro style,' it's like you or me saying 'Rhinebeck [New York] style."
The couple is known to respect freedom in their children’s choice of clothing. As Jolie tells Reuters, "children should be allowed to express themselves in whatever way they wish without anybody judging them because it is an important part of their growth. Society always has something to learn when it comes to the way we judge each other, label each other. We have far to go."
The clothing line’s proceeds will go to the couple’s Jolie-Pitt Foundation that assists charities around the world.
This is not the first time the couple will use fashion to further their humanitarian causes. Last year, the couple designed jewelry pieces for Asprey that benefited The Education Partnership for Children of Conflict, which Jolie co-founded.
