Spongebob Squarepants versus Patrick Star. Who do you think will win?

We’re not talking about boxing here. Or wrestling. Or mixed martial arts. What I want to figure out is who rocks it better on their respective Facebook pages.

We will be judging these two fictional undersea characters in three categories:

1. Number of “likes”
2. Photos
3. Discussion pages.

So without further ado, and without stopping to think where we’ll be if we go any further ado, here it is.

Round 1

Round 1 is all about the number of Facebook users who “like” their respective accounts, here are the results:

• Patrick Star - 2,286,337 Facebook “likes”
• Spongebob Squarepants - 6,936,187 Facebook “likes”

Clearly, the sponge has more “likes.” So Spongebob Squarepants definitely wins that round against Patrick Star.

Round 2

Round two asks, Who has more photos? Part of this round asks who has more albums. Then we go see who has more photos posted by others.

• Patrick Star - 4 photo albums, 27 photos by others
• Spongebob Squarepants - 3 photo albums, 201 photos by others

So while Patrick Star wins by a hair in terms of number of Facebook photo albums, Spongebob Squarepants is way ahead when we talk about Facebook photos posted by others.

Round 3

Now for round 3, whose discussion page is more active?

• Patrick Star - 94 topics
• Spongebob Squarepants - 201 topics

Here we can see that Spongebob Squarepants clearly has the lead. So in our Fantasy Facebook face-off between Spongebob and Patrick Star, Spongebob wins.

Incidentally, a website called Last Combat has already pitted the two marine beings before. It looks at how many times each character has been killed (Patrick Star’s 73 times versus Spongebob’s 59 times; unfortunately for Patrick Star, he wins this round) .

Spongebob Squarepants

SpongeBob SquarePants is the protagonist of the popular Nickelodeon animated television series of the same name. He was designed by marine biologist and animator Stephen Hillenburg, and is voiced by Tom Kenny. He is a naïve and goofy sea sponge who works as a fry cook in the fictional underwater town of Bikini Bottom.

Patrick Star

Patrick Star is a pink seastar who is SpongeBob's best friend. He lives under a rock and his most prominent character trait is his lack of intelligence, which differs from one episode to another. In some episodes, Patrick is deprived of even the most rudimentary common sense and knowledge, though occasionally he will have bursts of great intelligence, much to the confusion of everyone around him. Depicted as a negative influence on SpongeBob, he has encouraged dangerous and foolish activities that get the two into trouble. Patrick is a career journeyman who is usually unemployed throughout the course of the series, but holds various short-term jobs as the storyline of each episode requires.
