Multi-platinum pop trailblazers Drax Project release sophomore album 'Upside'

With over half a billion streams, Drax Project is one of the biggest artists to come out of New Zealand, and today, they released their highly anticipated,10-track sophomore album, 'Upside.'

With over half a billion streams, Drax Project is one of the biggest artists to come out of New Zealand and today released their highly anticipated,10-track sophomore album 'Upside'. Alongside, the band has announced a very special London headline show for next year at The Jazz Cafe in Camden on July 19.

Following their critically acclaimed self-titled debut album that includes chart-topping hits like Woke Up Late featuring Hailee Steinfield and Catching Feelings featuring Six60, the four-piece return with a project that is a testament to the band's success and artistic evolution.

Rising from strength to strength, Drax Project is a multi-platinum award-winning pop powerhouse who's toured with the biggest names in music, including Ed Sheeran, Christina Aguilera, Camilla Cabello and Lorde. Selling-out headline shows, they've also performed at international and UK festivals such as SXSW Australia and The Great Escape, making them no stranger to the stage with their one-of-a-kind, explosive live sets and clever pop tracks.

 

 

Upside is a 10-track album that blends elements of Pop and R&B with their signature, jazz-inspired sound. The project is an honest and fun portrayal from start to finish, delving into the band's epic journey. Opening with the euphoric track Atmosphere that sets the tone for the album, Drax Project candidly explores never giving up with the empowering Hold Me Back, taking chances in Disrespect, living the moment in the album's lead track Luxury, exploring love in Good Life, introducing a new club-inspired sound with Sugar plus many more brand-new tracks including Oh My, Supernova, My Luck (Someone Like You) and Mr Thunder.

Starting as a busker band and working endlessly on their craft, the band says, "This record is the amalgamation of years of hard work and love, and we can't wait to finally share it with the world! We hope you enjoy the music as much as we've enjoyed making it."

The album collaborates with a lineup of established writers and producers, including Rogét Chahayed (Drake, Travis Scott, SZA), Imad Royal (Doja Cat, Chainsmokers), Ferras (Katy Perry, Dua Lipa), and Marlon Gerbes (Six60).
