With some government agencies opting to launch their own Twitter and Facebook accounts, the Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) together with its other attached agencies have also implemented new improvements in its website to extend its services to computer users.

“The DoLE’s website has evolved since it went online. Among the improvement we have introduced are the new architectural platform, and the improved design look and feel of the website,” DoLE Information System Division (ISD) Chief Oscar Rosal said in an interview with the Manila Bulletin.

From its static and plain look since it was launched in 1999, the DoLE website now boasts of a navigable blue-and-white-themed design complemented with switching pictures, new links and downloadable forms, and updates on its attached agencies and regional offices.

According to Rosal, the ISD has implemented a similar standard the design for all of its websites regional branches, which are now more user-friendly, last July.

“We didn’t have 100% presence from our regional offices. Some didn’t have the funds to shoulder the cost in making a website. That’s why we invited them to allow us to host their sites and provide them with a template,” Rosal said.
