Pete Best, the original drummer of the most famous group from Liverpool called The Beatles, is not the only reason people should flock to the Aliw Theater on Sept. 11 for the “Beatlesfest 2010.”
Because the show will also feature some interesting and still popular performers from the local band arena.

They are Ely Buendia of Pupil, Rene Garcia of Hotdog, McCoy Fundales of Kenyo, and Ramon “RJ” Jacinto of The Riots. Guest performers are the Hotsteps Dancers and the Glass Onion Band.

Mounted by Steve O’Neal Productions, “Beatlesfest 2010” is presented by Hyatt Hotel & Casino (official residence) and Zest Air (official carrier), with PCSO, Business Mirror, SM Megamall, Hard Rock Café, Ming’s Pei Pa Koa Candy, MS, Mang Inasal and RJ 100.FM among the major sponsors.

“Beatlesfest 2010” will give local Beatles fans a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see in person an original member of the famous group from Liverpool, its original dummer, Pete Best.

Pete Best joined The Beatles on Aug. 12, 1960 after his former band The Black Jacks disbanded. He was said to have been convinced by Paul McCartney to join him, John Lennon and George Harrison. The Beatles were at that time looking for a drummer and he was the perfect choice for his “mean talent” drum playing.

Life went on with Pete Best after The Beatles. He was said to have worked as a Civil Servant for 20 years then he returned to the music scene. He founded The Pete Best Band and has since been performing around the world. They also have released a number of albums and their latest all-original album entitled “Haymans Green” was released on Sept. 16, 2008 in the US and later worldwide on Oct. 24, 2008 and in the UK on Oct. 27, 2008.
