A Guide to Selecting the Perfect Jeans
The casual wear is not complete without the classic jeans. Almost all people wear jeans daily, and most often than not, it is the favorite piece of clothing in the everyday closet. From students to the working class, everyone has that favorite pair of jeans. Paired with a cute top or a stunning blazer, it transforms from laid-back to smart casual.
For men, a pair of jeans is a pair of jeans. As long as the fly doesn’t open, it’s good. But for most women, looking for that perfect pair to compliment every curve or fit that body type is hard to do. You may get the waistline right, but does the crotch area seem right to you? Does it fit your thighs loose enough so you don’t look like you’ve squeezed yourself in them? How often do you get jeans that don’t fit at all the right places?
Talkfashions.com gives tips on selecting that perfect pair of jeans that would not only compliment your body type, but improve your whole wardrobe.
Tall/slim body
Tall/slim body types should look for styles that are plain and simple with straight legs. To draw attention to long legs, go for a style with a flared leg or design along the outside length of the jean.
Tall and slim body
Tall and slim body types should avoid jeans with a tapered leg as it draws attention to the size of the feet (assuming that taller people have bigger feet) and make the legs look strange.
Pear-shaped body
Pear-shaped body types should look for styles that have a flared leg, boot cut or pattern around the ankle area. Avoid jeans that are tight around the thigh area and tapered or baggy styles.
Body with long torso
Body types with long torsos are advised to select a pair of jeans with a defined waist that will make the bottom half of the body look longer and leaner. Wearing a belt helps define the body shape flawlessly. Avoid jeans with a long, bulky or tight crotch.
Petite body
Petite body types should select a pair of jeans with straight legs to help give a taller shape. To make the legs look longer wear heels with a boot leg style. Petite body types should go for dark-colored jeans.
Plus-size body
Plus-sized body types should avoid colored jeans and styles that feature patterns down the legs. Dark colored jeans with a straight leg, boot cut or flare style are best for bigger built body types.
Body with wide hips
People with wide hips should opt for a jean with a low-rise waist and a slight flare at the leg to help balance the figure. Select jeans with a bit of stretch and make sure they have large back pockets as the large pockets deflect attention from wide hips.
