Ombudsman holds Caravan of Services

ILOILO CITY (PNA) — Residents of Roxas City and the entire province of Capiz witnessed Wednesday the pooling of government resources and services with the Caravan of Services facilitated by the Office of the Ombudsman in Western Visayas.

Associate Graft Investigation Officer III Evangeline G. Nuñal said the one-day event in Roxas City, which kicked off at 8 a.m., is the fourth Caravan of Services coupled with medical and dental missions.

In Wednesday’s event is expected to benefit thousands of clients as the Ombudsman has gathered agencies with frontline services in one setting so that concerns of clients would be addressed right at the area.

The Ombudsman office was able to generate the support of 37 government agencies and private sector to become part of the activity.

The Caravan of Services which kicked off in 2007 was conceptualized by Deputy Ombudsman Pelagio Apostol who sought to bring government services closer to the people.

Since its inception, the program has already served 2,337 clients from Antique, Iloilo and Aklan.
