Samsung to release its own tablet device in market
In two weeks, Samsung’s own iPadversary will go on sale – the Galaxy Tab.
The device will be first available in Europe by mid-September. It has a 7-inch screen – relatively smaller than iPad’s, which is 9.7 inches – and uses Google’s Android software.
According to Samsung’s portfolio management director Thomas Richter, the tablet’s prices will depend on operator packages in different countries. In Finland, Galaxy Tab’s suggested retail price is 949 euros, more expensive than a 32 GB iPad, which costs 864 euros.
