Sam Milby pines for a White Christmas

Having lived in the US most of his life, Fil-Am singer-actor Sam Milby still prefers having a White Christmas there with his family than without them here in the Philippines.
"Tuwing Pasko dito sa Pilipinas, it doesn’t feel like Christmas to me dahil mainit. And I know it’s a lot different here [kasi] it starts early here. Pero for me, I’m so sanay sa lamig. Malamig talaga ‘pag Christmas (sa US). It feels like [Christmas] anytime of the year for me [when I'm there],” he said at Encore Bar on Sept. 2 when he was launched as endorser of Blue Water Day Spa.
Sam shared how they celebrate the Yuletide season in the US.
“Nagde-decorate kami ng bahay and we’d go to different villages na sobrang decorated lahat ‘yung mga houses nila,” he said.
Sam was able to experience Christmas in true American fashion for the first time in five years when he took a short Yuletide vacation in the US in 2009. It meant so much to him especially since he has been celebrating most Christmas these past years alone at home.
“Dati ‘pag Christmas, we open our presents, we decorate the tree..." he reminisced.
He plans to spend the coming Christmas with his family. "Iba-block off ko ‘yung date [at] pupunta ako sa States to be with my family. Siyempre, excited talaga ako. My sister got married last year and she just had a baby and I haven’t met my pamangkin. I already wanna see her,” he said.
The Blue Water Day Spa endorsement that he had just snagged seems to be an early Christmas gift for Sam.
“Coming from the last endorsers, of course, Karylle, Akihiro Sato, Piolo Pascual and Marian Rivera.....I have to find time to relax talaga. Ako, it’s great kasi world class ‘yung services nila. Happy ako,” he said of his new clients.
After his and Mikaela Lagdameo’s launch as the spa's new endorsers, they will grace its Fun Run on Oct. 17 at the SM Mall of Asia grounds. Joining Sam and Mikaela at the event are Karylle, Akihiro Sato, Boom Labrusca, Daniel Matsunaga, Fabio Ide, Coach Rio dela Cruz with the special participation of Sen. Pia Cayetano, Kiko Rustia, Coach Alfrancis Chua and 40 Brazilian model endorsers.
