Fresh from break-ups with their respective lovers, Brapanese model-actor Daniel Matsunaga confirmed that he is dating Heart Evangelista.

“I really like her company. She’s a really nice girl...yeah, we're dating” he said at the Blue Water Day Spa Innovating Wellness Fun Run media and celebrity endorser launch last Sept. 2.

Daniel said they became close on the set of “Langit Sa Piling Mo,” their first project together. “We always talk. She always [teaches] me Tagalog. [She] helped me a lot," he said.

Although they hang out together more often now---like partying in Republiq and going to church---they are not exclusively dating.

“We’ll never know,” Daniel said when asked if they will be “boyfriend-girlfriend” in the future. “[But] I like her a lot.”

Heart called it quits with second-time sweetheart Ian Dy last month. Daniel, meanwhile, broke up with his girlfriend two months ago.

“It’s really sad when this kind of thing happens,” he simply said of break-ups.

Daniel acknowledges that he has become Heart's shoulder to cry on.

“She needed a friend. She’s really sad with what happened. And I didn’t even ask what happened actually. Of course she was sad and I was supporting her, but no bad intentions,” Daniel said.

The actor also recently met Heart’s mother whom he describes as someone "nice.”

Heart related in another interview how her mom and Daniel’s first meeting went: “Si Mommy, nakakapag-converse silang dalawa dahil marunong siyang magsalita ng Spanish. Ako rin, may konting alam ako sa Spanish kaya nakakapag-usap din kami ni Daniel in Spanish. Pero nakakatuwa, kasi he's really trying to learn Tagalog.”

Curiously, though, Daniel failed to mention about meeting Heart’s father. “Only her mom,” he said.

But Heart, in the same interview, related: “Bumisita siya (Daniel) sa bahay, na-meet niya ang family ko. Si Daddy nga, nag-nose bleed sa kanya!”

Daniel, together with Blue Water Day Spa new endorsers Sam Milby and Mikaela Lagdameo, as well as other Brazilian models and celebrities, will participate in the company's Fun Run event on Oct. 17 at the SM Mall of Asia grounds.
