TV host-actress Mariel Rodriguez was released from the Asian Hospital on September 4 after a successful surgery to remove a cyst in her ovary.

As reported on “E-Live” that same day, Mariel’s doctor Eileen Manalo said the TV host underwent a laparoscopic surgery to remove the dermoid cyst which the 26-year old star discovered eight years ago.

Mariel was admitted in the hospital on Sept. 1. The operation took place the next day.

Not to miss this important event, Mariel’s 41-year old beau Robin Padilla---whom she calls “Babe”---paid her a visit on Thursday before her operation. Robin stayed until the surgery was completed---that is, after almost three hours.

“Tagumpay din ang pakiramdam ko. Wala na ‘yung cyst, wala nang balakid o kung anuman sa kalusugan niya,” Robin happily told “E-Live.”

Mariel’s grandparents Rafael and May Sazon were also present, and were welcomed by Robin the moment they arrived.

In a footage filmed inside Mariel’s room, Robin related to Mariel what her Lolo Rafael told him.

“[Sabi niya] I’ve never seen Mariel this happy. Thank you,” said Robin, to which Mariel gushed, “Awww.”

Mariel had earlier related to “E-Live” during her Aug. 28 interview how happy and contented she is with her life right now… with Robin, of course. The action star, for his part, laid down his macho guard once again to declare his happiness with his new princess.

“Aba’y hindi na po tinatanong yata ‘yon. Nakikita naman po sa aking ikinikilos hanggang sa aking pag-aalala. Alam po ng lahat na ako’y masaya,” he said.

He and Mariel, together with two of his children Alih and Kylie, went to Hong Kong last week for a seven-day vacation. Robin said he made the most of the trip especially now that Alih is set to go back to Australia, where his mother (and Robin’s ex-wife) Liezl Sicangco, resides.

“Nakakalungkot din ‘yon para sa’kin pero kailangan siyang tumugon sa tawag ng kanyang ina,” added Robin.

Robin decided to return Alih to his mother’s care after Liezl claimed in several interviews that Robin has been lacking time for his children especially Alih.

Among the places he and his son visited in HK were the house of action legend Bruce Lee, as well as his statue. Father and son then went to the beach, while Mariel and Kylie had a girl bonding-slash-shopping.

Robin said he discovered something about Mariel while they were in Hong Kong: “Magaling siyang mag-alaga ng mga bata.”

Back here in RP, Robin related taking Alih to his grandfather's grave as part of the 10-year old’s manhood training.

“Alam naman ng lahat na uuwi siya sa Australia na at gusto ko bago siya umuwi makumpleto ‘yung kanyang manhood training at isa don ay malaman niya kung sino ang lolo niya,” said he.
