The second day of the UEFA EURO 2012 qualifiers has come to a close, with national teams moving up and down their group tables.

Some proved to present a great performance consistent with their first match day, some improved, and some took a turn for the worse.

Germany continues their great EURO 2012 campaign with a 6-1 rout of Azerbaijan. Heiko Westermann, Lukas Podolski, Holger Badstuber scored a goal each, while Miroslav Klose proved to be in top form by scoring a brace. Germany's lead was augmented by an own goal from Rashad F. Sadygov, while a consolation goal for Azerbaijan was scored by Vagif Dzhavadov. Turkey beat Belgium 3-2, while Austria beat Kazakhstan 2-0, concluding the second day of Group A matches.

Russia concedes to Slovakia 0-1, Macedonia and Armenia draw 2-2 and the Ireland beat Andorra 3-1 in Group B.

Group C finds Serbia and Slovenia draw 1-1. In the other Group C match, Italy who seem to have gotten over their nightmare of a World Cup campaign, continues their great run for the EURO 2012 as they thump the Faroe Islands 5-0.

In Group D, Belarus and Romania figure in a goalless draw, while Albania beat Luxembourg 1-0. France, finally getting back on their feet after their first match day defeat to Belarus, beat Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-0, courtesy of Karim Benzema and Flourent Malouda.

The biggest scorers in the second day of the qualifiers is Sweden who bear San Marino 6-0. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar continues his phenomenal strikes as his brace hands the Netherlands a 2-1 win over Finland. The last Group E match finds Hungary victorious over Moldova 2-1.

Group F seems to be a group filled with draws with the match between Georgia and Israel and the match between Croatia and Greece ended with goalless draws. The lone match where a winner emerged is Malta against Latvia, which ended with a 1-0 victory for Latvia.

Bulgaria is defeated by Montenegro, 1-0 in Group G. Similar to Italy, England carries on their great post-World Cup performance as Wayne Rooney, Adam Johnson, and Darren Bent scored a goal each, beating Switzerland 3-1.

Portugal trips and falls to the lower half of their group as they are defeated by Norway 1-0. Rumors have it that the team is in chaos without manager Carlos Quieroz, who is suspended for 6 months because of a conflict with anti-doping officials. Denmark's 1-0 victory over Iceland seals the second day of Group H matches.

Group I sees the Czech Republic concede to Lithuania, 1-0, while Scotland is victorious over Lichtenstein, 2-0.

The third day of EURO 2012 qualifying matches are set for October 8.
