The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) is set to release on Thursday, April 20, a total of 532 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) from its prison facilities nationwide.
In a statement, BuCor said that a culminating activity for the PDLs who are qualified for release will be attended by Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Jesus Crispin C. Remulla, BuCor Director General Gregorio Pio P. Catapang, and Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) Chief Persida V. Rueda-Acosta.
Set for release are 211 from the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City; 20 from the Leyte Regional Prison (LRP) in Abuyog, Leyte; 67 from the San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm (SRPPF) in Zamboanga City; 16 from the Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF) in Occidental Mindoro; 24 from the Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (IPPF) in Palawan; 154 from the Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF) in Davao del Norte; and 40 from the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City.
Last March 20, BuCor released a total of 401 qualified PDLs from its prison facilities nationwide.
