11th National Convention on Statistics Slated on Oct.4

The 11th National Convention on Statistics (NCS) to be held on October 4 to 5, 2010 will feature sessions on financial risk management, banking and finance statistics, econometrics and applications, economic progress, data mining/business intelligence, and time series analysis.

The National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB) said the sessions will have relevant statistical discussions that would be useful for the participants in making informed decisions based on both current conditions and future business opportunities.

Plenary sessions will tackle emerging concerns, specifically disaster risk reduction and climate change, governance and Millennium Development Goals.

Invited as plenary session speakers include Governor Joey Salceda of Albay Province and Ms. Ma. Lourdes Mangahas of the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism (PCIJ) with Prof. Solita C. Monsod as Session Chair.
