Natalie Portman to Get the Lead Role in Gravity

It seems like Natalie Portman is the hottest lady for the movies right now, aside from Angelina Jolie and Sandra Bullock.

This is because after Jolie turned down the lead role in the sci-fi movie Gravity, which will be directed by Alfonso Cuaron, Cuaron offered the role to Portman, without even asking for a screentest. Sounds like Gravity is another good project for Portman, but reports says that she has not decided yet whether she is going to take it or not and still going over the script.

But is Portman a good choice for a movie offered to the likes of Jolie? The answer is yes.

Portman has done good movies in the past, and her performance in her latest, The Black Swan, was commendable, which might even get an Oscar nomination in February next year. This is exactly the reason why she got Cuaron’s offer.

Here is a synopsis of the movie Gravity.

“NASA astronauts Ryan Stone and Matt Kowalski are busy repairing the Hubble telescope and getting it launched from the Atlantis space station. They receive sudden word to abandon the mission and reboard their ship due to a satellite avalanche orbiting in their direction at breakneck speed. Ryan and Matt get back in their shuttle and try to race back to earth before the tidal wave of space junk reaches their ship.”

If Portman accepts the offer, she will be acting opposite Robert Downey Jr.
