CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – A simultaneous anti-illegal drugs operation conducted by the Police Regional Office-Cordillera from May 28 to June 3 resulted in the discovery of over P64.9 million worth of marijuana plants in the province of Kalinga and Benguet.
The PROCOR also seized P61,000 worth of shabu and dried marijuana fruiting tops from a suspect arrested during the same period.
Authorities said 150,000 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants and 290,000 grams of marijuana stalks were discovered in provinces of Kalinga and Benguet.
The estimated value of the discovered marijuana plants in two provinces was P64,924,000.
These were all burned after documentation, and a follow-up operation is being conducted to identify cultivators.
Meanwhile, a separate buy-bust operation conducted in Baguio City resulted in the arrest of a street level individual (SLI) identified as Mike Reniel Base Pascua, 26, and the confiscation of eight grams of dried marijuana fruiting tops and 8.85 grams of suspected shabu and leaves, with an overall SDP of P61,140.
