‘Beatlefest 2010’ Set at Aliw Theater
All’s set for “Beatlefest 2010” at the Aliw Theater on Sept. 11. Local Beatles fans had expressed enthusiasm to see in person, Pete Best, the original drummer of the most famous group from Liverpool, England. Many in fact are eager to ask Pete Best the real reason why he was fired from the group after only two years with them. He was replaced by Richard Starkey a.k.a. Ringo Starr.
Danee Samonte, producer, said Beatles fans will have the chance to ask all their questions during a Question & Answer portion which Pete Best is expected to oblige to during or after his performance with the Glass Onion Band.
By the way, there will also be celebrities attending, all eager to watch the original Beatles drummer perform. And of course, to root for our own iconic local band performers who are, at heart, Beatlemaniacs all like Ely Buendia of Pupil, Ramon “RJ” Jacinto of The Riots, Rene Garcia of Hotdog, and McCoy Fundales of Kenyo and Area One bands who are the featured performers tonight in “Beatlefest 2010.” They will play an exclusive Beatles repertoire.
Tonight, Beatles fans will be treated to an all-Beatles music as Pete Best and the Glass Onion Band will perform among others, early Beatles hit songs like “I Saw Her Standing There,” “Rock & Roll Music,” “Love Me Do,” “PS I Love You,” “Long Tall Sally,” “Roll Over Beethoven” and many others. After the show, Pete Best will sign autographs and pose for photos.
Incidentally, a Beatles memorabilia will also be on display at the Aliw Theater lobby. The Early Days exhibit features Beatles materials from Steve O’Neal’s extensive collection, individual collectors and the Beatles Booster Club of the Philippines.
“Beatlefest 2010” is presented by Steve O’Neal Productions in collaboration with Hyatt Hotel & Casino (official residence), Zest Air (official airline), Business Mirror, PCSO, Hard Rock Café, Mang Inasal, St. Francis Square, Perez Optical, SM Megamall, 99.5 RT, Wave 89.1, Jam 88.3, Magic 89.9 and the official concert station RJ100 FM.
