According to Mayor Imelda Aguilar, there is “no truth” to online rumors of an alleged lockdown of the Las Piñas Doctors Hospital.
“Sa kasalukuyan ay wala pang naitatalang kaso ng 2019 nCoV sa Las Piñas. Pinapakiusapan ang lahat na maging responsable sa pagbahagi ng balita sa social media," said Jimi Castillano, Aguilar’s spokesperson. (There is no recorded case of nCov in the city. We are appealing to all to be responsible when sharing news on social media.)
Based on the Facebook page of the Las Piñas City government, they have also come out with a warning against spreading fake news on social media.
The city government recently created the Task Force Bantay NCov team with members from different departments of the city government. They will conduct a series of meetings with public and private schools on how to avoid the spread of the disease and prevent infection.
Aguilar also ordered malls, restaurants, and other business establishments in the city to set up a team at their front doors to conduct temperature checks with thermal scanners on visitors, as well as provide disinfectant alcohol and soap inside their comfort rooms to promote hand hygiene.
Meetings will also be held with representatives of Philippine offshore gaming operators in the city about anti-nCoV efforts.
