Circulating messages on SM MOA to collapse are fake news - Mayor Emi

The Pasay City government warned against the circulating allegations on social media that SM Mall of Asia (MOA) will collapse and called these fake news.

SM MOA issued a statement that the foundation of the building was built on concrete piles that reach the bedrock and will withstand extreme situation.

It also said that  the SM Moa management is conducting rigorous checks to ensure the stability of the building so that "at no time will the safety of customers, tenants and employees will be compromised."

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the city government had to inform the public that the news circulating on social media is fake to erase the fear of the public in visiting the mall.
