CAMP GEN. PANTALEON GARCIA, IMUS, CAVITE – A drug suspect was killed on Wednesday night by police in a shootout after a buy-bust operation in Barangay Manggahan. General Trias City, the Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) reported on Thursday, February 6.
The PPO identified the suspect as Darwin Cal Sabado, 20, a mechanic and resident of Stateland Hills in Barangay Manggahan.
Sabado, a suspected street-level drug pusher and user, died on the spot due to the bullet wounds he sustained in the firefight.
He was the 10th resisting drug suspect to have died in encounters with police in Cavite province since January 27 this year.
Staff Sergeant Harry O. Culanding, case investigator, reported that Sabado fired his gun during the police pursuit.
The suspect reportedly boarded his bicycle and attempted to escape after he sensing that the buyer of the P2,000-worth of shabu was a policeman.

Recovered were the suspect's .45 cal. pistol with a magazine loaded with a bullet and a pouch containing seven sachets of shabu and the buy-bust money.
