'Willing Willie' Held Successful Trade Launch
MANILA, Philippines - Celebrities, advertisers, and even TV5’s executives graced the “soft launch”—or what in industry terms is called a “trade launch”—of their new show “Willing Willie,” spearheaded of course by the comebacking host, Willie Revillame.
Held last Oct. 13 at the World Trade Center (and aired on the same night), Kapatid network executives were spied at the event, led by its head honcho, Manny V. Pangilinan (MVP). Willie’s partner in Wil Productions, Viva’s Vic Del Rosario, was also on hand, as well as the host’s chief legal counsel, Boy Reyno.
The three-hour or so energy and fun-filled program served as a dry run of sorts where a few games on the “Willing Willie” show were tried. And true to the reports, the games proved to be suited indeed for the family, for the audience, and definitely for the masses—especially considering the prizes the contestants stand to win. In fact, the trade launch alone rewarded a contestant with a P100,000 cash prize, proof that they are serious about giving away money like audiences expect them to.
Out of appreciation to his viewers, Willie gave it his all during the event; and so did his staff and crew, which included the WWDancers—who had several dance routines as well as costume changes. Willie himself threw in everything he’s got, coming in full of energy in his hosting as well as in leading the game playing. He even took to the mic to sing—delivering what seemed to be a heartfelt number. Clearly everyone seemed tired from all the weeks of rehearsals, but everyone gave as much as their leader did.
The results even allowed for high-profile guests the likes of Ben Chan, Randy Ortiz, Tessa Prieto and Louie Cruz to enjoy the night. But just as the show is controversial in nature, so is a couple of its guest—Vicki Belo and Hayden Kho, who came in together. Indeed, cameras were pointed at them as soon as the production people got wind of their presence. Vicki, who was said to be in an Oscar dela Renta wide-skirt dress, was reportedly scheduled to fly out of the country that night, but opted to drop by just the same.
Vicki’s daughter, Cristalle Henares, was also present at the event. It was espied, however, that before leaving the venue, she bade her mother goodbye but seemed to have evaded Vicki’s boyfriend, Hayden.
A thankful Willie extended his gratitude to the TV5 executives that came to the show, and personally shook their hands when he went down from the stage. And surprisingly, despite the ongoing case filed by ABS-CBN against him, Willie managed to thank Gabby Lopez and Charo Santos for the past opportunities they had given him. He cited them for being responsible for his current success.
In the Oct. 14 episode of “Juicy,” Percy Intalan, TV5 Head of Entertainment and Creative Services, said, “Sirempre ‘yung grupo, pinaghandaan nang husto ito, para makita na, kung baga, magle-level up. At mas marami pa silang magagawa. Nakita ko rin ‘yung ibang mga plano nila at masasabi ko, talagnag kakaiba. At siguradong maganada ‘yung pakiramdam mo rito sa show.”
Meanwhile, Jay Montelibano, the former business head of “Wowowee” who resigned from ABS-CBN to come work for Willie, described the show as: “It’s more fun, more interactive. Dynamic… Excited si Willie. He has rested for a long, long time. He’s very eager to come back… Alam niyo naman ‘yung show, it’s about giving.”
Willie will do more of his giving through “Willing Willie” on Oct. 23, with the show airing from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

finally Kuya Will. I looked forward to your entertainment everyday since I first saw you on WOWOWEE in 2005. I talked about your show at work regularly and even wrote ang english essay about the show. Sometimes my opininion gets me in trouble at my job because I care about the patients and say it at the wrong time. So please remember why you care so much for the people of the Phillipines and smile, before we give our opinions, you are the best, salamat kuya. Akong sa new shows in California soon. Also I hope you will do tours again. I saw you in South Lake Tahoe. I was only a few rows from the stage. My Filipina girlfriend laughed because I was so excited. After one year of going to college to learn Tagalog I still forget my words. Ako ang American at proud na proud, pero my puso belongs to the Philllipines for all their gracefulness, love, and family unity. Maraming salamat po.
I admire Willie a lot for his adoration for the masses but just a piece of advice. The next time you will step out to the public, try to reflect first, don't go with your emotions. Remember it is the public who made you. Be a good example. Huwag lalaki ang ulo...

Akala ko ba, nag kakasakit ka WILLIE dahil sa ginagawa mo show at napapabayaan mo ang sarili mo. Tapos, ngayon may show ka na uli sa TV. Hindi ka naman consistent sa mga statement mo eh.
Ano ang magiging kaibahna ng bago mong show na will ensure na gagaling ang SAKIT mo at hindi ka magkakasakit dahil sa pag aasikaso ng SHOW.
