Nothing beats the physical.

At a time when people rely on social media to communicate, President Marcos and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos believe that it is always better to talk and share moments face-to-face, especially when it comes to maintaining a healthy and strong relationship.
“I suppose it’s just direct communication,” Marcos said in response to a question in his most recent vlog, which featured his better half for the first time.
“Don’t communicate through your phone. Talk to each other face to face. Don’t bother with social media when it comes to relationships,” he added.
The President told couples to spend time together.
“Talk to each other face-to-face. Hold hands, go have dinner, walk down the beach, do something. But don’t do it digitally,” he said.
To First Lady Liza, laughter and being grateful help in keeping a strong relationship.
“Don’t let stress get to you. Laugh whenever you can,” she said.
“Be grateful for what you have and we’re all blessed one way or another. Just be grateful. You’ll never be perfect, but just be grateful,” she added.
President Marcos agreed, saying having a sense of humor helps especially those who are busy.
“Dahil napaka-seryoso ng trabaho namin (Because of how serious our job is)— I was about to say we don’t bring work home, but we do because we have to, eh,” he said.
“In the end, we’ll always find time to laugh about everything and try to see the light inside of things. Otherwise, you will go a little crazy,” he added.
“But that’s true. I think we try to laugh a lot. It’s stressful outside so when you come home, just try to make light of things,” the First Lady chimed in.
The First Couple got married on April 17, 1993, at the San Francesco Convent in Fiesole, Italy. They have three sons: Senior Deputy Majority Leader Sandro, Joseph Simon, and Vinny.
