Some 17 songs, many of which did not make well during the time of their release several years back, are included in Gary V’s 25th full-length album and are expected to make it to the chart as they are more relevant today!

The songs were chosen from the past multi-platinum albums of “Mr. Pure Energy” Gary Valenciano, and are being given a chance to make it to the chart through “Replay,” under Universal Records.

The songs were not as popular, even bordering to being relatively unknown, as compared to the monster hits that other songs in their respective CD collections they belong to have become. “They can still become hits,” Gary V said with confidence. “In fact, they are even more relevant now!”
During the press launch of “Replay,” Gary V sang some of the songs, and based from audience response, the songs were well and warmly accepted and applauded.

One song which Gary V wrote and recorded during the early years of his singing career was “Ohhh!” It is included in “Replay” and it is such a meaningful song.

During his latest concert, “Gary V: Soul in Motion” held at the Music Museum, Gary V performed some of the songs included in “Replay” and the audience was amazed that such beautiful songs were included in “Replay.” That was an indication that those songs which were then not so popular will make it to the chart.

The songs in “Replay” are “Did It Ever,” “Relevance,” “Wait Forever,” “Shake It Off,” “When I Hear You Call,” “One Hello,” “Kung Tayo’y Magkalayo,” “And I Love You So.”

GMA-7 programs dominate TV ratings

Imago, trendsetter

If there’s any strong element that has kept the Imago band together, it is honesty. Of course, they had also misunderstanding, but honesty – being honest to one another – makes any problem among themselves easily resolved!

“Not only being honest with one another, but we are also honest with the songs we write,” the members of Imago said. “There must be truth in what we write.”

Imago members write all their songs. The album they have just released under Universal Records is “Effect Desired None.”

The members of Imago are Myrene Academia, bassist; Tim Cacho, lead guitarist; Zach Lucero, drummer; and Aia de Leon, lead vocalist. The songs featured in the album are: Lead single, “Huling Yakap Ng Mundo;” “Bawal,” “Sutil,” “Sa Ngalan Mo,” “Effect Desired None,” “Premonition,” “Can I,” “Sagad,” and “Spare Change.”

“We do not write a song to follow the current trend,” they said. “We write a song based on what we feel, and it is what we want to communicate.”

“We hope someday we could establish a trend,” they stressed. “We do not also write a song because of its commercial viability. We write a song – again – because it’s what we feel and we want to share that kind of a feeling with others!”

It has been a rollercoaster 12 years for Imago, whose debut album “Probably Not but Most Definitely” brought them to prominence.
