Ellen Adarna wishes John Lloyd Cruz and girlfriend well

A far cry from her wild and carefree party girl days, hibernating actress Ellen Adarna is now a picture of domesticated bliss in her life as Mrs. Derek Ramsay. But she also couldn't help but comment that she wishes for her former flame, actor John Lloyd Cruz, to have a "harmonious relationship" with his current girlfriend, artist Isabel Santos, so it can be a good example to their son Elias. "Sana naman magiging happy and harmonious rin ang relationship nila kasi makikita yan ni Elias. Magiging standard yan na this is what a loving family or a loving couple or mother and father should be like," Ellen stressed when interviewed during the opening of Shinagawa Diagnostic and Preventive Care Center where she is an ambassador. She stated that she gives John Lloyd 12 days in a month to be with their son which she thinks is a "fair" set-up. " I make sure (Elias) has a good relationship with John Lloyd. He needs John Lloyd as much as he needs me. Our co-parenting is okay." Ellen revealed that she met Isabel several times on the days when John Lloyd fetches Elias and their relations are very civil. " Pag sinusundo ni John Lloyd, I bring him (Elias) to the car and we just say hi, hello. I acknowledge lang." The actress added that "hopefully that day will come" when Elias can celebrate a birthday in the presence of her and Derek as well as John Lloyd and his partner. For now, she's happy that Elias - who is turning five years old in June - is growing up to be more mature than his age.

"Very well exposed kasi eh, kahit hindi pa sya nag-start ng school, John Lloyd and I have very different lives. So he's exposed to my life and he's exposed to John Lloyd's world, it merges and I think it's good for him. That's what the kid needs. A lot of exposure," she noted. Ellen also spilled the secret of her relationship with Derek which remains "strong and happy" after a whirlwind courtship and two years of being married. "Of course, we had conflicts to get to know each other, tinitimpla nyo pa. But the boundaries were already set  like, no, you cannot do that...no, you cannot say that to me. You do this and this will be the downfall of the marriage. So the boundaries were set and it is being respected and honored  by both parties. We have arguments but it's very chill," she bared. Ellen acknowledged that it is her and Derek's choice not to be active in showbiz to give priority to their marriage and raising Elias. " Let's give it to Derek. He's been working so long in the industry, he's 47. He definitely deserves to take a break and just enjoy it." In her case, Ellen said she will just maintain her commercial endorsements but returning to TV and the movies will not happen in a long time. Previously, Ellen said she will try to conceive this year in order to give birth in 2024, which is the lucky Year of the Dragon. If that happens, it means another seven years of giving her full focus on her family.

"I just want to be there for my kids during their formative years," she remarked. The 35-year old Ellen further disclosed  that travelling and keeping healthy are her priorities now, which is what the public also sees on the Ramsays' social media. She proudly declared that she has 18/20 vision which is  "clearer than 20/20"  thanks to her successful surgery at the Shinagawa Lasik Center years back. "Okay ang effect sa akin, my wellness, my eyesight. Before, I was kinda blind, now the world is so clear, I can willingly endorse them for free because they're very good" she said. Together with young actress Sanya Lopez, Ellen was one of the special guests during the inauguration of the all-new Shinagawa Diagnostic  Center at the Ore Central Building in Bonifacio Global City (BGC). Ms. Masako Uemori, president of Shinagawa Philippines, said the facility brings Japanese-standard healthcare to the Philippines with a full line-up of state-of-the-art equipment for major tests like CT scan, endoscopy. and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), among others.
