'Bubble Gang' Honors Yoyoy Villame
“Bubble Gang” on its 15th anniversary, pays tribute to Yoyoy Villame Now on its 15th year, “Bubble Gang” will air a movie-TV special honoring the late comedian Yoyoy Villame with a horror/comedy/musical extraganza Friday, Oct. 29, on GMA-7 after “Beauty Queen.”
Comedic combo Ogie Alcasid and Michael V will headline the one-hour musical TV special which takes after Villame’s song “Bungalow” which tells about a young man’s horrifying experience after inheriting a haunted bungalow from a deceased relative.
Also in the cast are Wendell Ramos, Rufa Mae Quinto, Antonio Aquitania, Maureen Larrazabal, Boy 2 Quizon and introducing the Bubblets, Jackie Rice, Gwen Zamora, Ellen Aarna, and Sam Pinto.
Asked what is the formula for the highly-rated and unprecedented success of “Bubble Gang,” Bitoy (Michael V) said “There is no formula. We simply do our best.”
Rufa Mae Quinto added that “hindi ako nagsasawa.” (I’m not bored). Rufa has been in the show for 10 years. “There’s always something new in the show!”
“Bubble Gang” has remained unequalled in comedy-making in Philippine TV history. It is the country’s longest-running gag show, breaking so many records including itself.

Introducing Viva Events
Viva Entertainment’s Big Boss Vic del Rosario has set up a new office called Viva Events, which he intends to handle all kinds of corporate functions and below-the-line activities. Named general manager of this event specialist branch of Viva Communications is noted stage manage Roxanne A. Lapus, who Del Rosario also invited to be a partner of the new company.
They’ve actually been in tandem for the past five years, and they’ve been a winning team in the concert scene, where Boss Vic has successfully revived an interest in the OPM classics by boldly producing concept shows featuring Filipino hit makers with Roxanne as director. Both believe in the excellence of the Filipino artists.
And now, Boss Vic and Direk Roxanne intend to invade the corporate business circle and offer their joint savvy to spice up the various launches, celebrations, activities and promotions of their corporate clientele offering and using the versatility and many advantages of Viva Artist Agency, Vive Records, Viva Films, Vive Concerts and all its other conglomerates as a one-stop events shop.

Walk to Fame
A new search for male models was launched recently at the Hyatt Hotel & Casino. Called Walk to Fame, the search aims to provide world-class models for TV and print and also on the ramp.
Presented were those who passed the auditions and who will compete for the titles.
Walk to Fame is different from the other searches for models in that it will benefit the abused, the orphans, the abandoned children residing at the Nayon Ng Kabataan at Welfareville Compound in Mandaluyong City, now headed by Ms. Evangelina G. Lawas.
The producer of Walk to Fame is Arturo Melendres, a balikbayan and former accountant at General Motors in the US who has a passion for helping people especially the less fortunate. He wants to help aspiring actors and models and at the same time give them a regular outreach program.
In charge of the search event is Jojo Victorio, owner and managing director of Victo Rio Production, Events and Management. He has been running events like pageants and fashion shows for many years now.
Jojo also handles the annual search for Mr. & Ms. Philippine Youth 2011.
