Enzo Pineda emulates Dingdong Dantes
GMA Artist Center’s promising talent Enzo Pineda, who was “Starstruck V’s” First Prince, said he wants to emulate local heartthrob Dingdong Dantes, who together with Hollywood actor Brad Pitt is his idol.
He admires them both because aside from being good actors, they are also role models, Enzo said. “I want to follow in the footsteps of Kuya Dingdong who is also a good dancer and at the same time has his own foundation that helps people. That is what I also want to do.”
After being named Top Celebrity “Candy Cutie” recently, Enzo Pineda has set his eyes on a new goal – get buffed, show some skin and earn himself a spot in next year’s Cosmo Bachelor Bash.
Enzo is aware of the rigorous workout and the discipline meeting such a goal entails. Indeed, clinching the Candy Cutie title is simpler. It is the result of a poll conducted by Candy Magazine via their Candymag.com between July 15 to Aug. 31. Enzo received 24.04 percent of the total 50,000 votes, outshining the other nominees like Star Magic’s AJ Perez, former PBB housemates Bret Jackson and Ivan Dorschner and Enchong Dee of the hit TV series “Magkaribal” and the box office hit movie “I Do.”
The handsome upstart attributes the achievement to his fans, the “Enzopporters.” He believes that if it weren’t for them, he could not have won the said title since everyone nominated for the Candy Cutie title are talented and good looking as well.
“The turnout in the online votes that placed me on the top of the Candy’s Candy Cutie was unexpected. Right now I’ll live up to the role of being a Candy Cutie. Soon after I don’t mind showing some skin. But I’ll be a Candy Cutie first before I advance,” Enzo said of his career’s reinvention.
How does his rumored girlfriend and “Starstruck V” Ultimate Female Survivor Sarah Lahbati react to his dream of becoming a Cosmo Bachelor Bash?
Enzo said he is not sure if Sarah is the jealous type but he bets she’d rather see him as a Candy Cutie than go daring or sexy.
But what if their love team is dissolved and they are each given other partners?
“It’s okay with me. If a lot of young actors want to work with Sarah, I understand because she is beautiful, talented, nice and tall. But if working with Sarah would go beyond work, I’ll be jealous,” he said.
At the moment, Enzo is excited with his upcoming TV project with Sarah again. The said show is close to his heart since it is about dancing. It is inspired by the Hollywood movie “Step-up 3D.”
Since he learned about this TV series, he has been attending dance workshops. He has also been learning gymnastics. This, for him, would add “spice” to his dance moves.

‘Babae sa Sementeryo,’ a different horror-thriller
“Ang Babae sa Sementeryo” is a different horror-suspense thriller as it tells the story of the ills of society brought about by poverty, exploitation of women, prostitution on a small scale and lack of education. Desecration of the dead is also tackled in this movie produced by former QC Councilor Antonio “Ariel” Enrile-Inton, Jr. under his AEI Movie Productions, in cooperation with Exponential International Trading Center owned by Ma. Gracia A. Lara.
Ariel himself appears in the movie as the story-teller. His experiences of going from one wake to another during his nine-year incumbency as councilor gave him enough materials to collaborate with director Buboy Tan for the screenplay.
In the cast of the movie are veteran actors Boots Anson Roa, Tommy Abuel, Roi Vinzon, Roldan Aquino, and Ma. Isabel Lopez, together with Ella Guevara, Mon Confiado, and Isadora who is making a comeback together with Jigo Garcia and Brylle Mondejar. Ella was the 2006 FAMAS Best Child Actress, while Mon was the 2007 FAMAS Best Supporting Actor for playing a gay role in an indie movie.
“Ang Babae sa Sementeryo” was filmed entirely at San Jose del Monte City where Mayor Reynaldo San Pedro gave his full support. The movie starts showing in Metro Manila theaters on Nov. 10.
