American film director-writer Gregory Segal is impressed by how disciplined the actors are. “And they have the willingness to try to do whatever they can to help the film,” he noted in an interview. “They give good performance and I’m pretty happy with what we've got.” “White Knight" is about former American marine, Nick, who moves to Manila and gets tangled up in a series of murders when a stalker begins to assassinate his romantic partners. Gregory hinted they have “a very big plot twist” and people should watch out for that. He knows it well having been in the Philippines for 10 times prior to shooting. His favorite places are Boracay, Bohol, Coron in Palawan, and Subic in Zambales. For locations, they featured the heritage site old Manila, especially the walled of Intramuros. They also shot a scene in Malate, Ermita where 2012 American mystery-thriller “The Bourne Legacy" did so. Aside from Manila, the group also filmed in Puerto Galera. “We were ambitious. We had a scuba diving scene as well as the big chases through the city without closing down the streets,” he said. Beginning It took some time before Gregory was able to put everything together. Conceptualization alone took him two years to finalize. “When I started to write I started to think about all the things I’ve seen, all the stories that I heard from other people. They told me about their experiences travelling in the Philippines. That was the way we built Nick's character – from that,” he shared. The film is special to Gregory as it is his first feature movie as director. “So I wanted to enjoy that ride a little bit,” he said. Gregory gives updates on behind-the-scenes developments on his official social media accounts. A day after the wrap, Gregory posted a message for his crew. “Sa aking tauhan... Maraming salamat sa pagsisikap at pagsakripisyo na malayo sa pamilya niyo, sobrang naappreciate ko kayo...” his status read. "White Knight" will be fielded to festivals abroad and it will be shown locally too.
