Marian, the sexiest super heroine ever
MANILA, Philippines – No less than Regal Films matriarch Mother Lily, describes Marian Rivera, who plays the title role in “Super Inday,” as the “sexiest super heroine ever.” “Sexy na nga siya but with her very sexy costume as ‘Super Inday,’ mas naging sexy siya,” Mother Lily said. “Super Inday” is a remake of the classic Maricel Soriano starrer.
Marian’s pink and lavender costume accentuated her svelte figure as it reveals much of her skin and curves. When offered the role, the actress, who first captivated televiewers with her role as “Darna” in the now defunct toprating series of GMA-7 where she wore a two-piece ensemble, she didn’t have qualms wearing the sexy costume.
“Kaya nga kay Marian ko ibinigay ang remake ng ‘Super Inday,’ kasi never siyang nagreklamo sa costume na ginamit niya sa shooting. I believe Marian did justice to her role as Super Inday,” Mother Lily proudly stated.
In a recent press conference, Marian admitted that indeed her costume as Super Inday is very, very sexy. “Naiiba talaga ito, but aside from the sexy costume, this movie is really full of fun. Kasi may pagka-bakla dito si Super Inday. Actually, baklang-bakla siya.”
“Super Inday” was first played by Diamond Star Maricel Soriano, who Marian visited before their shooting started. “I wanted to pay her my respect. Nagbigay pugay po ako sa kanya. And she said she’s happy that the role was given to me. Bagay daw sa akin,” Marian said. Marian first worked with Maricel in “Bahay Kubo,” another Regal Films’ entry to the MMFF in the past.
“Super Inday” is one of Regal Films’ entries to the 2010 Metro Manila Film Festival, the other one being “Shake, Rattle & Roll,” a perennial blockbuster at the box-office.
About her lovelife, “so far, so good,” Marian admitted. “Wala kaming problema, despite all the rumors. Dingdong himself said in his interviews that we’re happy, wala kaming problema sa relasyon namin.”
In her new project for next year, which Marian described as an epic-serye, GMA-7 is auditioning for a new leading man for her. On his part, Dingdong will do a teleserye with Regine Velasquez.
Asked about any wedding plans between her and Dingdong, Marian said, “huwag muna pag-isipan yan.”

Pokwang also shines in ‘Super Inday’
There are many other super heroes in “Super Inday” and they are portrayed by Jake Cuenca, John Lapus and Pokwang, who’s unleashing her comic antics in this her first project as a Regal Baby.
In “Super Inday,” Pokwang plays a mayordoma who unwittingly earns super powers herself that transform her into an accidental heroine. For the Kapamilya star, working with a Kapuso star (Marian) didn’t pose any problem at all. Work between them proved to be a breeze, with Marian keeping Pokwang on her toes. And egged her when the comedienne needed a push in tackling her physically taxing character.
For her part, Pokwang managed to shine in the movie even when she is no sexy babe compared to her topbiller co-star. And she did this through her comic antics and extremely hilarious scenes. This is not to mention her body-hugging costume which revealed much of her “curves” as well.
“Super Inday,” which opens on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, in theaters nationwide, is directed by Mike Tuviera.
