Four teams begin title drive in PVL Reinforced Conference
Four teams begin their title drive Saturday, Oct. 8, in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at the Santa Rosa Sports Complex in Laguna.

PLDT Home Fibr and United Auctioneers Army raise the curtain at 2:30 p.m. followed by the 5:30 p.m. tussle between the Akari Power Chargers and the Cignal HD Spikers.
Nine teams are competing in the import-flavored conference also composed of Chery Tiggo, Choco Mucho, Petro Gazz, Creamline and F2 Logistics.
The Petro Gazz Angels are expected to defend their 2019 crown after the conference was shelved for two years due to the pandemic.
But focus will be on the first four teams seeing action with their respective high-flying imports.
The PLDT Home Fibr Hitters will parade with 6-foot-4 Russian outside hitter Elena Savkina-Samoilenko, who had stints in France and Turkey while Army Lady Troopers have outside spiker Laura Condotta, a former Brock University standout who ranks among the school’s all-time leaders in spikes.
Samoilenko joins forces with PLDT standouts Mika Reyes, Rhea Dimaculangan and Kath Arado in trying to outshine Army, which has a veteran lineup in Jovelyn Gonzaga, Royse Tubino, Ging Balse and Ivy Perez.
In the other pairing, Akari boasts of three-time Olympian Prisilla Rivera to fuel the crew that has Jho Maraguinot and Michelle Cobb.
Cignal, for its part, has 6-foot-1 outside hitter Tai Bierria to beef up the squad composed of Rachel Daquis, Ces Molina and Riri Meneses.
