MB Daily News Update: SC asks LTO, 5 MM cities to answer petition vs NCAP

Malacañang confirmed that the administrator of the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) and a member of its board have resigned in the aftermath of the aborted importation of sugar.

This, as President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said he was inclined to allowing food manufacturers to directly import sugar.

A House committee voted to postpone the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections that were slated in Dec. 2022 to next year.

The Supreme Court (SC) ordered the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and five Metro Manila cities to answer a petition filed by a transport group against the implementation of the no contact apprehension policy.

And the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) made it clear that the grace period for the implementation of the extended color-coding scheme in the metropolis will only last until Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2022. It will start issuing tickets to offenders on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2022.
