MANILA, Philippines – Three of local filmdom’s young, beautiful, and promising actresses, Shaina Magdayao, Carla Abellana, and Andi Eigenmann, have taken on the biggest challenges in their careers by embarking in the scariest adventure of their lives via the 12th edition of the successful horror franchise “Shake, Rattle and Roll.” This is one of Regal Films’ entries to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.

Truly believing in the three young stars’ talent and proficiency, Regal matriarch Mother Lily Yu-Monteverde and daughter Roselle M. Teo personally handpicked the storylines that would best suit Shaina, Andi and Carla’s real-life personalities and yet remain faithful to the creepy tradition that “SR&R” movies have been known for.

Shaina topbills the episode “Mamanyika” where she plays Ricky Davao’s rebellious daughter, who in her search for life’s meaning, frequents her late mother’s (Jackie Lou Blanco) grave where her sister found a doll. Little did they know that the doll was formerly owned by a mysterious lady and was under the control of an evil spirit.

Unlike other girls, Shaina in real life is never fond of dolls. In fact she’s scared of them, and so imagine the agony she has to go through while filming “SR&R.”

In the episode “Isla Engkanto,” Andi who gained popularity when she starred in the top-rating ABS-CBN series “Agua Bendita,” plays a heartbroken teenager who goes to an island to forget. There she meets Rayver Cruz who’s looking for his long-lost girlfriend. An “engkanto” falls madly in love with Andi’s character. The place where they shot the episode is said to abound with “engkantos.”

Carla stars in the episode “Punerarya,” which she considers a big break in her acting career. She plays a tutor to two young kids who live in a funeral home. Her leading man in the episode is Sid Lucero.

In real life, Carla said “matatakutin ako.” And this is why she couldn’t sleep by herself. Her grandmother, former actress Delia Razon, is her opposite. “My grandmother is very fond of horror films and stories.”

Lucy & OraCare: Love at first try

She’s definitely one of the busiest celebrities today but Lucy Torres-Gomez makes sure she is able to fulfill her various roles as mother, wife, TV host, and Ormoc City’s congresswoman. And despite her hectic schedule, she always makes time for her oral hygiene routine.

“My jobs do not only require me to look and feel good. I must also smell good at all times,” says the 35-year-old TV host-turned-politician.

For her oral hygiene, Lucy uses OraCare mouthwash and toothpaste to keep her free from strong mouth odors and maintain her good oral health.

“Other mouthwash brands just camouflage the smell with a minty taste. OraCare Mouthrinse is different. It is formulated to break down the odor-causing sulfur compounds in the mouth, so you know it really works,” says Lucy.

Lucy shares that she uses OraCare Mouthrinse many times throughout the day. She takes it with her everywhere she goes – in her car, at the office, and even in the bag she brings to work.

Lucy lauds the fact that OraCare has Stabilized Chlorine Dioxide, an anti-bacterial ingredient that gets rid of bad bacteria in the mouth and neutralizes the source of mouth odors, making the breath fresh.
