Students banned in gaming shops
CAMP TOLENTINO, Bataan, Philippines — The Police Provincial Office (PPO) warned Sunday that minors and students playing computer games, particularly during class hours, is strictly prohibited and shop owners tolerating them will face charges.
Senior Superintendent Arnold D. Gunnacao, Bataan PPO director, made this clear as he appealed to parents to monitor the activities of their children.
Gunnacao cited how the Orion Police Station, led by Senior Inspector Marvin Pedere, recently launched an operation that led to the slapping of charges against Reynan Galit for alleged violation of the Municipal Children Code, when 23 students and minors were caught playing computer games at his shop during class hours. INDANG DAY SET
CAVITE, Philippines – Indang, a small but first-class town in Cavite, is celebrating its foundation day on Wednesday, December 1, with simple day-long activities at the municipal hall. Just like the exact date of the birth of Jesus Christ, no one in Indang could say when the town was established.
Officials said there are no surviving official records that could tell the exact date of the town’s establishment but one document reveals that the town was founded during a cold month in 1655.
“Indang is celebrating the 15th founding anniversary although the town was established centuries ago,” said Municipal Tourism Officer Marianito V. Nuestro. (Anthony Giron)
