ABS-CBN premieres a different comedy reality show that will surely get you ROFL (rolling on the floor laughing) and make you LOL (laugh out loud)! Aptly titled “Laugh Out Loud,” it is hosted by witty host-actor Luis Manzano.

To be shown every week are funny videos of real-life reactions of real people caught up in unusual practical joke situations be it at work, at school, on the streets, and everywhere else.

As to the similarity of “LOL” to that of Joey de Leon’s “Wow Mali” in another channel, Luis said “it’s very different; the very component of ‘LOL’ is iba. It’s very interactive.”

Luis is joined by the Queen of Cosplay turned TV host Alodia Gosiengfiao in “LOL.”

Embarking on her first-ever Kapamilya project, Alodia (she’s the niece of the late director Joey Gosiengfiao) said “I feel very honored to be part of this show! I’ve never really done a show with ABS-CBN and I feel very nervous because people might have very high expectations.”

Luis said he is happy that he is co-hosting “LOL” with Alodia. He’s been hosting for a long time but “hosting is a long learning process.”

Alodia said she’s enjoying her job very much, as well as working with Luis. “We’re comfortable working together kasi kilala ko na siya even before. Masaya kami…” Alodia was a model before she joined showbiz.

Don’t miss the premier of the newest comedy reality show “LOL” tonight at 9:45 after “MMK” on ABS-CBN.

Rico J. makes OMG winner very happy

Rico J. Puno, one of the Hitmakers who’re hosting with great success “Pilipinas Win na Win,” made very happy the winner of P900,000 (from the OMG segment of the show) when he visited him in his home.

“Sobra talaga ang tuwa ko. Sino ba naman ang hindi magiging masaya kapag dinalaw ka ng isang sikat na singer tulad ni Rico Puno?” said Roberto Nonato. “Marami ako natutunan sa kanya tungkol sa buhay, dahil tulad din pala ng isang ordinaryong tao, marami din siyang mga pinagdaanan.”

Rico J.’s visit to the lucky contestant is only the beginning of many surprises in store for the loyal followers of “PWNW.”

Interestingly, ever since the Hitmakers were tapped to host the daily variety-game show, its rating has consistently gone up despite initial apprehension from some quarters since they are basically singers and hosting is, as everyone knows, a different ball game.

“It’s a challenge every day,” Rico said. “But we are now celebrating our two-month anniversary. Our lifestyle changed. We are now waking up early to rehearse our production numbers.”

“Nagigising na kami nang maaga ngayon. Good thing, we came from a US Tour and our body clock was different, so when we started the show natuto kami gumising nang maaga,” Rey said.

Nonoy and Marco laughed at the recollection of how they practiced their numbers before the show and the many “kapalpakan” along the way.

Hosting is a never ending learning process, Rico J. said, and “we’re just too happy to last this long as hosts of ‘PWNW.’ Nakakatuwa, kasi puwede rin pala kami mag-host. But it’s really so different from singing. Kami ni Marco, as politicians, we were used to serving our constituents. As hosts of ‘PWNW,’ we are serving people nationwide.”

Because “PWNW” is a daily undertaking, the Hitmakers’ visibility on the small screen has improved even more their celebrity status. Their schedule now is so hectic that they cannot accommodate offers to do some shows, especially abroad. “Well, unless it is ‘PWNW’ that we are bringing abroad,” Rey said.
