The Manila government will continue to conduct clearing operations even after the 60-day deadline given by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has already ended.

Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso said clearing operations should be conducted regularly even after the deadline has lapsed.
"Let me be clear. Tapos na ang 60 days. Hindi pa natin alam ang grade ng Maynila. Whether bagsak tayo o pasado tayo, immaterial iyon sa akin (The 60 days have come to an end. We do not know the grade of Manila, whether we fail or pass, that’s immaterial for me),” Domagoso said in his weekly program 'The Capital Report.'
He stressed that clearing operations will remain continuous whether or not Manila passes or fails the DILG's audit of public roads and sidewalks.
On Saturday, at least three barangay halls were demolished by the Manila City government. Personnel of the Manila city government also demolished the Barangay 729 Hall along P. Ocampo Street near St. Scholastica's College in the capital's fifth district.
The barangay hall, which was obstructing the public sidewalk, was destroyed by Manila Department of Engineering and Public Works (DEPW) workers.
DEPW personnel also demolished the Barangay 688 Hall at Singalong Street near Remedios Circle after it was tagged as a public sidewalk obstruction.
The Barangay 694 hall at the corner of Malvar and Leon Guinto Streets near Philippine Christian University was also demolished by DEPW personnel on Oct. 5.
"Lahat ng taga-DPS, taga-DEPW, lahat ng pulis, lahat ng barangay official, particularly mga chairman, hinihikayat ko kayo, tuloy-tuloy ang paglilinis, pagsasaayos at pagbabalik ng mga kalye sa taumbayan, (To all personnel of DPS, DEPW, all cops, all village official particularly chairman, I’m encouraging you to continue the clean-up operations, to put everything in order and to give back the streets to the people),” Domagoso said.
"Obligasyon natin iyon bilang mga halal ng bayan, na mabigyan ng kapanatagan, kaayusan at malinis na pamayanan ang ating mga nasasakupan. Kaya kayong mga barangay chairman, tinatawagan ko po kayo. Patuloy po kayong makiisa, (That’s our obligation as elected officials to give them peace, orderliness and a clean community to our constituents. To all barangay chairman, I’m urging you to coordinate with us),” he added.
