Little Lambs bags AsiaSpa Award
Congratulations to Little Lambs Kiddie Spa & Clinic which was awarded the Best Kiddie Spa in the recently concluded AsiaSpa Awards 2010 held at The Mira Hotel in Hong Kong. It’s the first time that the four-year-old company had competed in the Kids’ Spa category, besting six other contenders from India, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam – most of which are bigger and more established hotel and resort-based establishments.
The award cites the spa’s holistic approach (mind, body and spirit) which combines pediatric and alternative medicine in the promotion of children’s wellness. In addition, its comprehensive service menu (which includes organic products) as well as its top-of-the-line facilities also contributed largely to its winning edge. The spa is owned and managed by Carl and Lyne Balita, businessmen and medical practitioners. Little Lambs is just one of several successful ventures of this couple.
Lyne, a pediatrician and devoted mother of four, admits that her service philosophy reflects her intuitive motherly passion.
Little Lambs has also earned the trust of celebrity endorsers Paul Salas of ABS-CBN Star Magic, Mica dela Cruz of “Goin’ Bulilit,” Makisig Morales of “Shout Out” and Ella Guevarra of GMA-7.

Joyful Noyze remakes carols in X’mas album
A group of youngsters called Joyful Noyze came up recently with “Cool Christmas,” an alternative Christmas album. The CD contains 10 traditional Christmas tunes arranged in the spirit of today’s melodic pop and rock beats. Opening track is a reggae make-over of “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” featuring the exuberant voice of seven-year-old wonder kid Athan Jaime.
Athan is supported by Sam Ayson, Erwin Marasigan, Lea Rianzares.
Other songs in the album are “Deck The Halls” and “Hark The Herald Angels Sing” which get a pop-rock treatment, “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” a husked folk number, “O Little Town Of Bethlehem,” a tribute to boy band blues and harmonies; “Joy To The World,” which takes the Christmas fun to the street with a head-spinning beat combining ’70s R&B of “Kung Fu Fighting” and the more recent hip-hop backbeat of the Beastie Boys and Planet Rock.
