Half day blackout in Kalinga, parts of Apayao and Cagayan

By Liezle Basa-Iñigo  A 12-hour power supply interruption tomorrow, November 20, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. will affect the entire Kalinga province and parts of Apayao and Cagayan. Melma Batari, National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) - North Luzon communications specialist said the power outage will affect the entire KAELCO franchise area and CAGELCO I's Solana, Caritan, Carig, and Piat substations. The power supply interruption will give way to the testing of substation equipment, simultaneous with line maintenance activities. NGCP assured that power supply will be restored once the testing and maintenance works are completed.
