Angelina Jolie says she and her kids have to “sneak” out of their house to try and avoid the paparazzi.

The actress – who raises six children, Maddox, nine, Pax, seven, Zahara, five, Shiloh, four and two-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, with her partner Brad Pitt – spends most of her time at home to avoid the throng of photographers who follow her wherever she goes. But she has devised escape routes to escape attention telling The Independent newspaper: “My real life is 90 percent contained in my house with my kids. When we are at our best, we are just nutty. And the kids want to go out shopping to the market, but you’ve got 20 people behind you so you just can’t. But sometimes we try to sneak out – and sometimes for us the easiest thing to do is sneak out of the front door, because everybody is checking the back door! But you try not to live your life that way – it would drive you nuts.”

Angelina also claims the public make wrong assumptions about her personality, often believing her to be a dark character, but she insists she has a soft side she believes she inherited from her late mother Marcheline Bertrand. “Sometimes people think of me as being darker, but  (“The Tourist” co-star) Johnny (Depp) has seen me on set giggling; I think maybe a bit of my mom has rubbed off on me, and hopefully I’m a little softer and more female than I’m assumed to be.” (msn.com)
