The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) on Nov. 4 said the Mayon Volcano Network has recorded continuous increase in the seismic activities of Mayon Volcano from 75 to 162 volcanic earthquakes.

Phivolcs said among the volcanic earthquakes are 159 volcanic tremors with a duration of one to seven minutes while it also observed two pyroclastic density current events and 172 rockfall events.
The lava still flows at approximately 3.4 kilometers along Bonga, 2.8 kilometers along Mi-isi, and 1.1 kilometers along Basud Gullies, said Phivolcs.
Meanwhile, the volcanic sulfur dioxide (SO2) emission has an average of 958 tons per day on Nov. 2.
Phivolcs warned the public of the possibility of hazardous eruption in the following days or weeks, as Alert Level 3 is maintained over Mayon Volcano which means that it is currently "in a relatively high level of unrest."
The public is also advised to be wary against danger of PDCs, lava flows, rockfalls, among other volcanic hazards. (Lizst Torres Abello)
