A disbarment complaint has been filed Friday (May 10) against Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) president Abdiel Dan Elijah Fajardo and incoming president Domingo Egon Cayosa over the appearance of Peter Joemel Aadvincula at the organization’s head office.

Kabalikat party-list, represented by Tomas Jose Cabrido, filed the complaint before the SC’s Office of the Bar Confidant against Fajardo and Cayosa.
In a statement, Kabalikat said that Fajardo and Cayosa violated “Rule 1.02 of the Code of Professional Responsibility which states ‘a lawyer shall not counsel or abet activities aimed at defiance of the law or at lessening confidence in legal system’.”
The complaint was filed after Advincula held a press conference at the IBP head office in Pasig City last Monday where he revealed that he was “Bikoy” in the viral videos “Ang Totoong Narcolist.”
During the press conference, Advincula reiterated the claims made he made in the video that he was a former drug syndicate member, and had personal knowledge of the involvement of members of the family of President Rodrigo Duterte and senatorial bet Christopher “Bong” Go in the illegal drugs trade.
Fajardo has already declared that the IBP has turned down Advincula’s request to be provided with legal assistance in filing complaints against members of the Duterte family and Go.
However, the Kabalikat stated that “despite the slander and seditious words uttered by Advincula inside the halls of IBP, they did not prevent the same.
“In sum, in allowing Advincula to use the premises and resources of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines free of charge, respondents appear to have counseled or abetted Advincula in the commission of slander and/or inciting to sedition,” said Kabalikat.
