11 drug suspects including a minor nabbed in buy-bust op
At least 11 drug suspects, including a 16-year-old boy, were nabbed by police in a buy-bust operation in Pasig City Sunday night.
Police identified the suspects as Frank Vedana, 49; Annie Lou Atienza, 37; John Patrick Ballon, 24; Patrick Joseph Velasco, 34; Manuel Grageda Jr, 42; Jabby Vedana, 21; Hendry Salonga, 38; Barry Liaguno, 37; Michael Manikan, 30; John Raymart Santos, 19; and a 16-year-old minor.
Members of the Eastern Police District Drug Enforcement Unit conducted the sting operation at the house of target Frank Vedana along Cherry Street, Damayan Park Homes in Barangay Maybunga around 8:30 p.m.
A police poseur-buyer was able to purchase P1000-worth of illegal drugs from Vedana, police said.
However, Vedana suddenly ran towards an alley after he sensed that he was dealing with an undercover cop.
The anti-narcotics team chased after Vedana, who was collared minutes later, while others stormed Vedana’s house where they caught the 10 other suspects in the act of sniffing shabu, police said.
Recovered from the suspects were seven sachets of suspected shabu, five opened sachets with residues of suspected shabu, a digital weighing scale, an improvised tooter, and the marked money.
Charges for the violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were prepared against the suspects, while the minor was turned over to the custody of the Women and Children’s Protection Desk for proper disposition. (Jhon Aldrin Casinas)
Two brothers wanted for rape arrested in Marikina
Two brothers who are wanted for rape cases are now languishing in jail in Marikina City.
P/Col. Restituto Arcangel, Chief of police identified the arrested as Ronnie Ric Paz, 27, parking boy and Ricky Ryan Paz, 39 both residing at Pilling Santos St., Barangay Tumana, Marikina City.
The police report showed that the two were arrested last Sunday around past 12 in the afternoon. First to be arrested was Ronnie, known as # 1 most wanted in Provident Village Brgy., Tanong followed by his elder brother Ricky around p.m.
He is known as #2 most wanted in Tumana, Marikina.
The suspects were arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Hon. Judge Edwin A. Valdez Prising Judge of Family Court branch-7 for rape cases. ( Madelynne Dominguez)
Two bodies found in Pasig and Mandaluyong
The police are investigating the two unidentified bodies found in the cities of Pasig and Mandaluyong on Sunday night.
Police described the first discovered body as a man in his late 20s wearing a black sweatshirt and gray short pants.
The still unidentified body was found by Jennifer Crizada on the back of a truck parked along Ilang-Ilang Street in Barangay Sta. Lucia Pasig City at around 6:10 p.m., probers said.
An emergency rescue team was then dispatched and brought the victim to Pasig City General Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Crizada told probers that the victim was last seen vomiting and complaining of chest pains.
Meanwhile, a body of a scavenger was also found under a tree along Boni Avenue corner Sto. Rosario Street in Barangay Plainview, Mandaluyong City.
The victim, who was described by police wearing a black polo shirt and blue and yellow pants, was found by a concerned citizen lying unconscious under a tree at around 6:40 p.m. on Sunday.
Residents interviewed by probers only known the victim as a scavenger who was sometimes seen drunk.
The responding cops, a police report showed, found no external injuries on the victim.
They rushed him to Mandaluyong City Medical Hospital but he was declared dead on arrival.

Third most wanted person of Navotas Police Station nabbed
The third most wanted man of the Navotas City Police Station was arrested at Barangay Sipac, Navotas City on Monday morning.
Police Colonel Rolando Balasabas, Navotas police chief, identified the suspect as Alexander Illustrisimo, 28, jobless, resident of Barangay North Bay Boulevard North, Navotas City.
The suspect is tagged in the killing of a certain Rannie Boy Barrot on November 9, 2018, Balasabas said.
Hon. Pedro Dabu Jr., presiding judge of the Navotas Regional Trial Court Branch 286, issued the warrant for the suspect's arrest.
Police records show that Illustrisimo has faced other cases before, including charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act and Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Elements of the Navotas City Police Station Warrant and Subpoena Unit nabbed the suspect at about 9:45 a.m.
Police said they were able to track the suspect's location through monitoring.
