Dr. Carl E. Balita, hailed as Best Public Service Program Host by the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) in 2009, launched recently at Bestsellers (Robinsons Galleria) a book entitled “Prosperity.” The said book was described a learning guide to wealth and abundance. Among those who attended the book launch was Mrs. Socorro Ramos, National Bookstore chairman, who wrote the epilogue for the book. Ms. Karen Davila, TOYM awardee, wrote the foreword.

Dr. Balita, who at only 40 is one of the country’s most successful entrepreneurs, is host of the CMMA Hall of Famer “Radyo Negosyo” on ABS-CBN. The show is aired weekly, every Saturday at 7 p.m., over 630khz. For the success of his program, and for his “Balik Pinas EntrePinoy Program” in 1999 that enabled more than 6,000 Filipinos to come back home and be reunited with their families as entrePinoys, he has been dubbed the Philippines’ “EntrePinoy Guru.”

His book, he said aims to provide an answer to the proverbial question: “What do I have to do to be successful and happy being rich?” “Not all successful people are happy, as not all happy people are successful,” Dr. Balita explained.
His book features insights from Dr. Balita’s lush experience as motivational speaker and entrepreneur. The book also includes interviews, quotes and tips from the world’s most successful men and women. Also featured in “Prosperity” are interviews with 26 Filipino luminaries, including Gawad Kalinga founder Tony Meloto, Hapee Toothpaste’s Cecilio Pedro, Speaker Sonny Belmonte and Fr. Gerry Orbos, among others.

Artworks from Cristy Fermin’s Mga Obra ni Nanay Art Gallery are used to provide chapter introductions to set the mood and evoke a message.

“The book is one that will inspire to aspire, teach dreams to work and will enable actions to evolve for ultimate success and happiness,” said the self-made man.

‘American Idol’ on 10th season

This January, “American Idol” goes on its 10th season. While reality TV shows come and go, “American Idol” has stood out to be the most followed all over the world.

From its first audition in 2002, “American Idol” has blossomed from a simple pop icon search into a worldwide phenomenon which has discovered great talents and gave them the grandest stage a singer could ever dream of.

With nine “American Idol” winners, more than 70 albums produced by “Idol” contestants, and over 20 million albums sold in the US alone, “American Idol” has achieved more than any other talent search shows in history in the past nine years.
With the addition of judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez, as well as in-house mentor Jimmy Iovine, watch out for the show’s 10th season premiere on Jan. 20 at 6 p.m. with encores at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m., and two fresh episodes on Thursdays and Fridays at 6 p.m. and encores at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. only on Star World.
