“What Love Is” is what Sarah Geronimo and Martin Nievera will define and present during their first concert together at the Araneta Coliseum! What will the concert, “What Love Is,” be like? Martin will be singing his love songs while Sarah will be singing new songs! Of course, they will have production numbers – where they will sing together – their respective popular hits! Expectedly, it will be a blending of seasoned, proven love songs blended with puppy love songs.

“I believe Sarah can teach me new songs,” Martin said. “But Sarah is an old soul,” he added. “Yes, I am,” Sarah confirmed. “Because for Sarah,” Martin continued, “love songs remain forever!”

Martin believes that Sarah can give his all-time hit “Be My Lady” a totally fresh, captivating rendition.

“My dream is for Sarah to sing with an orchestra and go to the next level,” Martin admiringly said of Sarah.

Martin added that he will not just be interpreting a Sarah song but he is willing to do a Justin Bieber type of rendition, which caters to the age level of Sarah.

Shifting to love, Sarah said she has no lovelife yet, as she is now so focused with her career. “There’ll be a time for that,” she added. “And the one who makes proposal must know how to talk to my parents!”

Sarah is not at all fazed by the competition she and Martin are facing this Valentine season. The other Valentine concerts feature entertainment legends in the country and foreign popular acts.

To sum up her singing career, Sarah has released a 23-track album, “Sarah Geronimo – A Music Video Collection.”

ASAP Sessionistas as solid as ever

Rumors say ASAP Sessionistas (composed of Asian Acoustic Sensation Aiza Seguerra, Diamond Soul Siren Nina, Queen of Acoustic Pop Juris, Knight of R&B Duncan Ramos, Big Band Crooner Richard Poon and Bossa Nova Diva Sitti Navarro) are soon disbanding. But the six of them strongly denied the rumor, saying they cannot just disband, that they are not just a group, because they were formed by the Kapamilya Network as ASAP Sessionistas to perform every Sunday on ABS-CBN’s toprated noontime show “ASAP.”

Even if they get lucrative offers from other networks, they will still stick together, they said. On Aiza’s part, she said “we have a lot of fun together, we enjoy each other’s company,we love each other, so why should we disband? We’d rather stick together. Masaya kami sa ‘ASAP.’ We assure everyone we are a solid group.”

ASAP Sessionistas started as a regular segment in the Sunday musical variety show “ASAP.” They became a big hit and soon they’ve become a household word, and an in demand all-star ensemble for major concerts both here and abroad. They performed to adoring audiences in Anaheim and San Jose in California, in New York and Guam. They also have enchanted compatriots in Toronto and Calgary in Canada.

Now touted as the country’s finest session artists, the ASAP Sessionistas will showcase their musical artistry and style to create beautiful music as they go centerstage on Feb. 5 at the Araneta Coliseum no less.

The concert aptly billed as “ASAP Sessionistas 20.11,” will also feature “Acoustic Princess” Princess Velasco who will join the group for the first time. The show is brought to you by ASAP Live! And MJM Productions and is directed by Dido Camara.

Since there are many Valentine shows featuring popular artists both local and foreign, the group was asked if they are pressured or insecure with the fierce competition. Their answer was a resounding “no.” They are confident of their own style, talent and showmanship.

For their concert at the Big Dome, ASAP Sessionistas promises an exciting repertoire of love songs and a splendid mix of acoustic, rock, bossa, soul, R&B, and pop.
