Fil-Am 'Glee' star has a thing for Tina Fey

MANILA, Philippines – Fil-Am Hollywood upstart Darren Criss sent Manila female fans to dreamboat mode last month when he performed in a series of shows.
His admirers all wanted to know if they fit his type of woman. It turned out, Criss liked his girl smart, hilarious and in her 40s.
The 23-year-old “Glee” actor (his character Blaine became a series regular in November 2010), who attended his first Golden Globe Awards last Monday (Manila time) confessed to having had a longtime crush on Tina Fey.
Criss told People during a red carpet moment that he will definitely get star-struck if he meets her. “Talk about just hilarious, beautiful, smart, talented – just awesome. If I met her, I would turn into a puddle,” Criss raved and gushed about the 40-year-old “Date Night” star.
Criss, who previously told Bulletin Entertainment how he struggled playing a gay role in “Glee” being the straight guy that he is, even planned to ask Fey for a date.
“I would immediately ask her on a date to go mini-golfing with me. I just want to get some of her pixie dust on me,” said Criss.
Criss, who plays Chris Colfer’s love interest in the hit TV series mustered enough courage to approach the “30 Rock” star during Golden Globe’s afterparty.
Although Fey found Criss nice, the married writer-actress opted for a double date than a romantic one.
She told People, “I met Darren tonight, and he told me he’s a fan. He was really nice.”
Obviously flattered, she added with a laugh to peoplestylewatch.com, “I’m married, so I can’t take him on a date. But he can come on a double date with another girl and my husband and me. I love ‘Glee.’”
Criss started flirting with TV fans when he covered Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” during his “Glee” break-out episode. The said version sky-rocketed to Billboard’s No. 1, a first in the show’s history trendsetting history.
He talked about this feat while in Manila in December: “It’s great.
It’s flattering. I’m very happy that it has done so well. I’m a very, very small reason for why it’s done so well. First of all it’s a wonderful song. Second of all, the arranger is incredible. He did a really great job.
Third, it had to bring out a character attached to a very popular character Kurt Hummel. I happened to be the guy to be the face of it.”
While in Manila, Criss who was born to a Cebuana mother, confessed having other crushes on the show. “I don’t spend a lot of time with the cast members at all. The chances are so limited so when I see Heather Morris (who plays Brittany S. Pears), I tell her she’s fantastic. My other crush and whom I already confessed my love to, (laughs) and we already told we love each other, is Dot-Marie Jones, who plays Coach Beiste. She is the sweetest teddy bear in the world and I adore her and I love her and she’s so funny. She’s like such a sweetheart.
She’s such a ball of joy and I love and adore her.”
