MANILA, Philippines - Young actor Alwyn Uytingco is not eager to do gay roles anymore after having done the same more times than he’d actually want.

In a Journal article that appeared Sunday, Jan. 30, Uytingco said his continued portrayal of gay men in films has already caused much confusion in that some fans actually think he is gay.

Though he finds nothing wrong with that, even as he insists that he is very much straight as a rod. But he believes holding back on any more of those roles for awhile and concentrating on his role in TV5’s “Babaeng Hampaslupa,” which would hopefully give him enough room to wiggle out of the association.

Uytingco last played a gay man in the MMFF entry, “Tanging Ina Last na ‘To.” In “Babaeng Hampaslupa,” Uytingco plays a straight man, the best friend of lead star, Alex Gonzaga.
