With the threat of the Omicron coronavirus disease (COVID-19) variant hanging in the air, the race to vaccinate as many Filipinos as possible in the shortest possible time has become all the more imperative as the government’s three-day National Vaccination Days program starts Monday, November 29, 2021.

With the presence of the Omicron variant already being detected in several countries, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) also disclosed that passengers coming from South Africa and six other countries will be banned entry to the country.

Despite this threat, Malacanang remains optimistic as it noted the declining number of daily COVID-19 cases, the increasing number of vaccinations, and the steady pace that the economy is reopening.

There is also a lesser number of Filipinos, who consider themselves as poor, according to a survey.
