Fra Lippo Lippi's Per Sorensen enthralls fans tonight at NBC Tent
Per Sorensen of the popular ’80s New Wave band Fra Lippo Lippi will enthrall his fans with the group’s hit songs when he performs tonight at the NBC Tent at The Fort in Taguig City. This is Sorensen’s fifth Valentine show in the country, the first four being in Ormoc, Tacloban, Baguio City, and Cebu City.
Presented by Steve O’Neal Productions, the show entitled “Fra Lippo Lippi’s Greatest Hits,” is sponsored by Hyatt Hotel and Casino, PCSO, Mossimo Music, Hard Rock Café, San Miguel Beer, Business Mirror, Airspeed International Corp., Coffee Republic, Albergus, Waltrix Production, Baguio Country Club, IFM, Jack TV, ETC, 2nd Avenue, Solar Sports, RJ100 FM.
Per loves the country and its warm people that’s why he always comes back whenever opportunity knocks. At his meeting with entertainment writers at the Hyatt Hotel, he spoke fondly of his experiences in the Philippines, especially working with R&B Princess Kyla and collaborating with the megastar Sharon Cuneta, whom he described as “such a beautiful woman.”
He also told the press about his bout with depression and how he has recovered with the help of his wife and loved ones. Music of course helped a lot in his recovery.
Fra Lippo Lippi is originally composed of Per and Rune Kristofferson. But Rune decided to stop performing leaving Per. It can be recalled that FLL came out with hit songs like “The Distance Between Us,” “Beauty And Madness,” “Everytime I See You,” “Shouldn’t Have To Be Like That,” “Light And Shade,” “Stitches And Burn,” “Thief In Paradise,” “Freedom,” “Coming Home,” “Later,” “Some People,” “Crazy,” “Wisdom” and “Angel.”
In a previous interview, Per said that he would always include FLL hits in his repertoire. But of course, he also brings in his own musicality into his concerts.
According to him, what their fans heard from FLL is also his style as an individual artist. He won’t be experimenting with any style of music. Though he said that his music has evolved, he won’t do any R&B or even hip-hop.

Piolo serenades fans at the PICC
A lot of showbiz aficionados observe that, with the stature of Piolo Pascual as a matinee idol adored by millions for his diverse talents (as actor, singer, musician and model), they have yet to experience up close and personal a manifestation of his sentimental side.
And what could be a sweeter way of expressing his most intimate emotions than through the language of music? That’s why this Valentine’s Day, Piolo has chosen the gift of music to offer his fans and music lovers.
Piolo will serenade his fans with an endearing array of love songs during his Valentine concert today, Feb.14, at 8 p.m., at the Plenary Hall of the PICC. The concert, “Piolo Meets The Maestro, Ryan Cayabyab” will also feature the Ryan Cayabyab Singers, bossa nova diva Sitti and singing sensation Yeng Constantino as special guests.
The show to be directed by Johnny Manahan will have Ryan Cayabyab as musical director.
The centerpiece of the two-hour musical extravaganza is a 10-minute soliloquy based on The Beatles’ hit love songs, together with an awesome line-up of heart-wrenching songs from Pascual’s chart-topping “Decades” and “Decades II” albums.
It is also another milestone in the successful musical partnership between Pascual and Cayabyab, their third team-up after two Christmas concerts for Ayala Malls in 2009 and 2010 and a private event in Iloilo in-between.
“Piolo Meets The Maestro, Ryan Cayabyab” is presented by Jewelmer and Smart, with Petron and Sun Life Financial as major sponsors.
