Angeles City wins regional best PESO

ANGELES CITY – Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan lauded the city’s employment office for bagging the 2010 Regional Best Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in the highly urbanized city category.

The award was given during the recently concluded Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) Region 3’s 2010 PESO Year-End Performance Assessment held at the Fontana Convention Center in Clark Freeport Zone.

Adelina Deocales, city PESO manager represented the city during the awarding rites. Angeles City also won the National Best PESO Award during the National PESO Congress held in October 2010 in Tagaytay City. (Franco G. Regala)

Bulacan to host C.L.R.A.A. 2011
CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan – Once again this province will host the 2011 Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association (CLRAA), a six-day sports event come this February 20-25.

Being at the helm of the activity, the Provincial Government of Bulacan is now busy preparing to ensure an orderly, safe arrival, and stay of more than 8,000 student athletes in the province.

The preparation includes assigning of focal persons to assigned holding area of delegates, maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the venues, strict implementation of security measures in every point of entry and exit and dissemination of IEC materials to inform the public about the upcoming event. D.F.A. in San Pedro

SAN PEDRO, Laguna – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Regional Office conducted a one-day Mobile Passporting yesterday for 200 residents of this town initiated by Mayor Calixto Cataquiz, as part of the five day celebration of town's Sampaguita Festival.

Abbey Manas, San Pedro Public Affairs Information Officer said a total of 200 San Pedronians passed the screen test with necessary requirements.

The said applicants have submitted all their required documents two weeks before the program, will no longer to visit the DFA main office in Pasay City or DFA Regional Office in Lucena City to apply for passports. (Ferdinand F. Castro)

Angeles City rabies-free by 2013
ANGELES CITY – Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan said the City Government, through the City Veterinary Office (CVO), has intensified its campaign for a rabies-free city by 2013.

In line with this, the CVO scheduled a free vaccination of dogs and other pets in all barangays. It will be held annually. In 2010, there were about 17,578 cats and dogs vaccinated in the city.

The figure beat the previous record of 15,052 in 2009 and removed the city from the list of top 10 cities in Central Luzon having the most cases of rabies. (Franco G. Regala)

Batac gets cityhood
LAOAG CITY (February 18, 2011) – Local officials of Batac city were elated after their appeal in cityhood issue including the 15 other new cities were favored by the Supreme Court (SC).

Batac City Mayor Jeffrey Nalupta told Friday that this was a good development because his administration will now smoothly implement their programs and projects that was affected when the SC repealed their previous decision favoring the cityhood of their towns and 15 other places.

He also expressed his hope that the SC will not reverse again its decision and he appealed again to the members of the League of City Mayor of the Philippines (LCP) to not question the latest SC’s decision. (Freddie G. Lazaro)
